Description
1942 WDDR-001 is a doubled die reverse on the 1942 Mercury dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. A spread toward the center appears on ONE, on the leaves nearest the E of ONE, and on the left star. On the obverse, near the rim, below the W in WE at its right point, is a die gouge, and in the field lower left of the designer's initials is a NW/SE die scratch. On the reverse, a die dent lies between the rim and the lower left side of the E in DIME. Joe Feld submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
