Description
1940-S WDDO-005 is a doubled die obverse on the 1940-S Mercury dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling, a spread toward the center, is on the date. On the obverse, a short die gouge cuts across the E in WE at its bottom. On the reverse, under the I in AMERICA is a small gouge. John A. Wexler submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
