Description
Extra thickness shows on all outer devices. Separation lines show on the upper left tip. Die Markers: Obverse: A die gouge (dot) shows above the left edge of the 4 in the date. A die gouge shows between the lower N in IN and the G in GOD. A series of horizontal die scratches run through Lincoln’s upper hair and through the upper letters of WE. A series of concentric die scratches show on Lincoln's cheek, beard and lower ear. A series of concentric die scratches run through Lincoln’s central bust, below the buttonhole. Reverse: Faded horizontal die scratches run between the letters B and U in PLURIBUS. Smooth fields can be seen around the first dot and PLUR of PLURIBUS due to die abrasion. A small die gouge can be found in the lower right second U in UNUM. Vertical die scratches run through the lower C in CENT. Vertical die scratches show on either side of the T in CENT. Mostly vertical die scratches show through UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. A die gouge (dot) shows below the left edge of the O in OF. Submitted By: James C.
