Description
Extra thickness shows on all outer devices. Separation lines show on the upper left and right wheat tips and some of the wheat grains. Die Markers: Obverse: Light, mostly vertical die scratches show below the 9 in the date. A diagonal die scratch runs southwest from the 4 in the date. A die gouge shows well south of the 9 and 4 in the date. Die scratches show on Lincoln’s neck and below his chin. A series of vertical die scratches run north from Lincoln’s forehead and the bridge of his nose. Concentric die scratches run through the L in LIBERTY. Horizontal die scratches run through the letters of GOD. A concentric die scratch shows at the rim above WE. Reverse: Parallel diagonal die scratches show northeast of the T in CENT. Multidirectional die scratches show below the left wheat stem. A die gouge runs south from the outer edge of right wheat stalk. A series of diagonal die scratches show above the right wheat stem. A die scratch extends WNW from the center of the 1st T in TRUST. Obverse Stage B: The LIBERTY die scratch is still visible, but the TRUST die scratch is now gone. Reverse Stage A: Numerous die scratches run SW from between the E PLU of E PLURIBUS. A strong die scratch runs south to north to the right of the E in ONE. A die scratch runs NNE from the inside bottom of the C in CENT. Reverse Stage B: All Stage A die markers are still visible except for the die scratch to the right of the E in ONE.
