Description

An extremely close spread towards the rim shows on GOD and WE and on the 4 and 0 of the date. Die Markers: Obverse: A curved die scratch runs between the 9 and 4 in the date. A series of die gouges show above the N in IN. Die gouges show at the rim above the G in GOD and NW of the D in GOD. A series of light horizontal die scratches run through the letters TRUS in TRUST. Light vertical die scratches run through the letters IBE in LIBERTY. A horizontal die scratch shows behind Lincoln’s lower lapel. Reverse: A die crack runs to the rim from the O in ONE through the L in PLURIBUS. Horizontal die scratch connects the upper opening of the first U in UNUM. Horizontal die scratches run between the U and M in UNUM. A series of faded diagonal die scratches show inside the opening of the C in CENT. A vertical die scratch shows below the left side of the horizontal crossbar of the T in CENT. A horizontal die scratch connects the O in OF with the N in UNITED.
