Description

Class II + VI, Distorted and Distended Hub DoublingStrong quadrupling shows on FIVE CENTS.  Strong doubling shows on ELLO of MONTICELLO.  Doubling also shows on E PLURIBUS UNUM, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and the right side of the building.

Die Markers

  • Obverse: Die crack at tip of Jefferson's collar; die scratch above 940 of date.
  • Reverse: Winding die gouge on edge of right side of building.  Possible D/D West.
