Description
Obverse: Die Markers: Obverse: The obverse is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1940-D 10¢ WDDO-011. A very close Class II spread towards the center shows on the date. A short SW/NE die scratch can be found above the R in TRUST. Several SSW/NNE die scratches can be found to the left of, and running above the designer’s initials. A SSW/NNE die crack can be found on the lower back of the cheek. Reverse: Two die scratches from the ribbon at the bottom of the fasces run SE and east meeting at the top left of the D in DIME. A die gouge protrudes from the top left of the F in OF. A die gouge protrudes from the leave under the top dot.
