Description

Doubling shows as an extra eyelid to the north of the normal eyelid. Die Markers: Obverse: Diagonal die scratches run from Lincoln’s lower chin into the 1 in the date. A series of horizontal die scratches run through the letters of GOD. Horizontal die scratches run between the upper letters in WE and the first T in TRUST. Curved, vertical die scratches show in the field below the letters R and U in TRUST. Vertical die scratches show in the field to the right of Lincoln’s profile. Concentric die scratches show near the rim below the VDB initials. A vertical die gouge shows well south of the L in LIBERTY. Concentric die scratches show inside the opening of Lincoln’s ear. Reverse: A series of diagonal die scratches run through the letters BUS in PLURIBUS. Light, horizontal die scratches run through the right dot. A series of die gouges run from the rim above UNUM. A die clash remnant runs SSW from upper C in CENT. Three parallel diagonal die scratches show northeast of the F in OF. Submitted By: Daniel Griffin Cross References: None known
