1934 Lincoln Wheat Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-005

Description

1934 WDDR-005 is a doubled die reverse on the 1934 Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. E PLU of E PLURIBUS UNUM and the left dot are thickened, and Class II separation lines appear atop the left wheat ear. Obverse: a crack follows the bust's base and crosses the V of V.D.B., then arches over the D and B; a small gouge (dot) sits east of the bowtie in the field; and a heavy NNW-to-SSE crack lies in the vest's upper fold. Reverse: a scratch heads NE off the left ear's tip and through the E of the motto; a SSW-to-NNE scratch sits high on the left inside CENT's C, and a small gouge marks the underside of that C; and a scratch runs NNE to the C of CENT from UNITED's N, starting at its upper right. Whaden Curtis submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as 3-R-II+VI; the Coppercoins number is 1934P-1DR-003.
