Description

An impressively strong die variety for the pre-war Washington Quarter series, WDDO-006 carries CONECA reference 11-O-VIII and was documented by the Wexler Team. The 1934 quarter is a 90% silver issue — among the earliest Washington Quarters struck — and WDDO-006 shows a notably strong eastward spread on the upper R in LIBERTY, with a Light Motto parent die. A die crack runs northeast from the top of Washington's head through RT in LIBERTY to the rim — a bold secondary diagnostic visible to the naked eye on later-state specimens. Above and right of WE, strong northwest-to-southeast scratches are present; a strong north-to-south scratch appears below the N in IN; and a northwest-to-southeast scratch sits left of the bottom 9. The reverse carries its own die crack system: a crack along the eagle's right wing, a second extending east from the eagle's head, a short crack at the top left wing, and short northwest-to-southwest scratches on the right wing. The LIBERTY doubling, multiple die cracks, and Light Motto parent make WDDO-006 a multi-diagnostic variety accessible to systematic cherrypickers. Strong NW/SE die scratches above and right of WE. Strong N/S die scratch below the N in IN. NW/SE die scratch left of the bottom of the 9 in the date. Short NE/SW die scratches on the eagle's right wing.
