Description
1934 WDDO-006 is a doubled die obverse on the 1934 Washington quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. An extremely strong spread to the east shows on the top of the R in LIBERTY. The obverse is the weak motto type. Its markers: a crack heading NE from the top of the head that crosses the RT of LIBERTY and reaches the rim; strong NW/SE scratches over and right of WE; a strong north-south scratch under the N of IN; and a NW/SE scratch left of the 9 of the date, near its base. Reverse markers: along the eagle's right wing, a crack; a crack heading E from the eagle's head; a short crack along the top of its left wing; and short NE/SW scratches on its right wing. Keith Christenson submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as 11-O-VIII.
