Error
Description
Doubling shows as an extra eyelid to the north of the primary eyelid. Die Markers: Obverse: A die gouge is present right of I in IN. Die scratches run west from the left edge of the W in WE to above the G in GOD. A series of concentric die scratches run between the rim and the upper ST in TRUST. Similar looking concentric die scratches show below the VDB initials. A light die crack shows on the back of the truncation of Lincoln’s bust. Areas of die abrasion show in Lincoln’s temple area. Light die scratches run NE from RTY in LIBERTY. Reverse: A light die gouge shows on the R in PLURIBUS. Die scratch runs SE from B in PLURIBUS. A small die gouge (dot) shows in the field south of the right arm of the M in UNUM. A series of N-S oriented die scratches run through the opening of the O in OF and into the N in UNITED. A series of faded die scratches run south from the outer lower edge of the right wheat stalk. Obverse:
