=1921-P VAM-1B1 Vertical Polishing Lines Face, Die Gouge Left Wing, Spikes at ST= Discovered by Joe Buzanowski, June 1982 as VAM-1B Revised August 2025 to mention earliest stage without reverse polishing lines. 1B1 IV 1 - D1a (Vertical Polishing Lines Face, Die Gouge Left Wing, Spikes at ST) (189) Obverse IV 1 - Fine vertical polishing lines on forehead, eye, cheek & jaw-neck junction. ''Die marker'' - Several vertical polishing lines at top right cotton leaf outside. Reverse D1a - Segmented diagonal die scratch on lower inside of feathers of eagle's left wing. Several die gouges at denticles above ST in States, likely from feed fingers of coining press. DPIS – In 1921 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # Originally VAM 1B before split up into 1B1 and 1B2 in 2015 # The gouge in the eagle's left wing is the best pick-up for this variety.
