Description
1919 WDDR-002 is a doubled die reverse on the 1919 Buffalo nickel, cataloged by the Wexler team. A close Class II spread toward the center appears on UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and E PLURIBUS UNUM, and slightly on FIVE; the doubling is strongest on OF and the dots next to it. On the obverse, a die clash shows at the throat; a short NW/SE die crack crosses the hair atop the head; and north-south scratches lie at the throat. On the reverse, a die clash runs through E PLURIBUS UNUM. Keith Christenson submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
