Description
The 1918-D Doubled Die Obverse DDO-001 is a doubled die obverse (DDO) variety, where a misalignment during the die hubbing process created visible doubling on the obverse design elements. This variety was discovered on the 1918 (D) Buffalo Nickel, part of the Buffalo Nickels 1913-1938 series. Die markers: UVC-039 DMR-002 Stage A: EDS (unconfirmed) Stage B: MDS (unconfirmed) Stage C: LDS (unconfirmed). Cross-referenced as FS-101. FS-101. Current photos courtesy of Bill Fivaz. I need to see a specimen for digital photographs and die state information.
