Description
1917 WDDR-003 is a doubled die reverse on the 1917 Buffalo nickel, cataloged by the Wexler team. E PLURIBUS UNUM shows a Class IV spread toward the northwest, the second A in AMERICA shows it slightly along its underside, and the bison's underside is doubled as well. Wexler notes no obverse markers. On the reverse, the S in CENTS has a die chip at its top right. Wayne Carson submitted the variety, and Wexler's comments note that the photos were taken by Brian Ribar. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
