In 1915, coins were struck at the San Francisco Mint with a combined mintage of 655,000. This represents the highest annual mintage in the entire series, above the series median of 450,000. The obverse features a female figure standing beside an anvil and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Produced during the Progressive Era, when President Theodore Roosevelt championed a renaissance in American coin design that produced some of the most beautiful coins ever struck. Struck in silver.
