Description
1900-S VAM-2 Wide S Discovered by Francis Klaes June 1963. Revised March 2023 2 III2 1 • C3b (Wide S) (189) Obverse III2 1 - Date at the left edge of normal lateral position. Later die stages show a crack from the tip of the bust through the centers of the 19 and lower parts of the 00. Reverse C3b - Normal die with wide V S mint mark. Some short, diagonal lines in the middle of the eagle's left wing and toward the bottom close to the body. Die Markers - Lines in wing-neck gap and wreath bow. DPIS - LE3/RH4 Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: 11, 2 Comments: Best fit for the original specification of VAM 2 after a die study of the date.
