1900 Morgan Dollar - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-001

Description

1900 WDDR-001 is a doubled die reverse on the 1900 Morgan dollar, cataloged by the Wexler team. The letters of GOD WE TRUST show separation, and the arrows, arrow shaft and arrow feathers are boldly doubled. The olive branch's leaves, branches and knot show significant doubling. The eagle's left wing and the lower tail feathers are slightly doubled, and light doubling shows on the lower left serif of STATES's A and on the F of OF. On the obverse, light polishing shows in the recessed upper hair and in LIBERTY's letters, and two light parallel scratches sit right in front of the eye. Wexler notes no reverse markers. John A. Wexler submitted the variety, with photos by Brian Allen. CONECA lists it as 1-R-II, and its VAM number is 11.
