1891-P VAM-2 Doubled Ear Discovered by Bill Fivaz, February 1973. This coin is a Top 100 Morgan VAM. '''2 III2 2 C3a (Doubled Ear) (189)''' '''Obverse III2 2''' - Ear strongly doubled at bottom and halfway up side. Hair strongly doubled just above the ear. Small die chip on forehead just in front of the hairline. '''DPIS - ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: '''Comments: # 1891 VAM-2 Double Ear. This variety has a fantastically doubled earlobe. When it is encountered, be sure to check Liberty's upper lip for a die break. If the break is present, the coin is a [[1891-P VAM-2A, a much more rare variety. # The normal [[1891-P VAM-2 is available in high-grade mint state examples without too much hunting.
