1891-O VAM-20A Near Shifted Date, Obverse Gouges, Clashed Reverse M Discovery April 5, 2022 by lured_in_again. 20A III2 12 • C3j (Near Shifted Date, Obverse Gouges, Clashed Reverse M) (181) Obverse III2 12 - Strongly shifted secondary 891 digits as described for VAM 20. Later stage with strong gouges on obverse, one from denticles into field at space between R and I of PLURIBUS. A separated section of same gouge passes through front of coronet and left wheat leaf, touching the grain and right foot of R. A small section of this gouge also passes through I of LIBERTY. Another gouge extends down from denticles through S of PLURIBUS, with a small separated section at top of cap fold.
