=1889-S VAM-11 Very Far Date= Discovered by Leroy Van Allen, September 1983. 11 III2 8 • C3a (Very Far Date) (184) Obverse III2 8 - Date set much further right than normal. DPIS - ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # Mint mark is set slightly to the left. # Obverse die also used on 1889-S VAM-6. # Obverse polishing lines are readily observed at the top indicating trying to erase small cracks, see an example at the links below.
