Description
1889-O VAM-14 Doubled 9, Slanted Date Discovered by Oscar Simpson, March 1977. Revised 2020 by LD Lane aka ChiefRet.. 14 III2 9 - C3a (Doubled 9, Slanted Date) (181) Obverse III2 9 - Die-2 - Doubled 9 slightly at top of upper loop. Slight slant to date with 9 higher than 1 with 1 in normal lateral position. Die rust pitting in hair. Die marker - Four short diagonal polishing lines in right hair gap above 1-2 right stars. Reverse C3a - DPIS - Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: Duplicate listing (but more complete) of VAM-11 (now delisted). It appears that 1889-O VAM-14 is a different die pair from 1889-O VAM-14A.
