1888-S VAM-3 Near Date, Doubled 8 Discovered by Leonard Hinckley, February 1974. 3 III2 2 C3a (Doubled 8) (???) Obverse III2 2 - Last 8 doubled all across the top outside. The date is set further left than normal. DPIS - Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: Here is compilation of 88-S VAM 3 full-coin photos. 1888-S VAM-3 shares reverse of 1888-S VAM-4. (RH) The exact same obverse die was used to produce 1888-S VAM-3, 1888-S VAM-3A1, 1888-S VAM-3A2, The exact same reverse die was used to produce 1888-S VAM-3A1, 1888-S VAM-3A2. The reverse of the 1888-S VAM-3 is different. The 1888-S VAM-3C shares neither obverse nor reverse with 1888-S VAM-3, 1888-S VAM-3A1, 1888-S VAM-3A2.
