Description
1888-S VAM-11 S/S Discovered by Calvin Cherry, November 2005. 11 III21 · C3e (S/S) (187) Obverse III2 1 - Normal die of III2 type. Reverse C3e - IV S mint mark repunched w/ original showing as a horizontal curved line w/in middle of upper loop opening & lower loop is doubled at top inside. Top serif is doubled on the right side. DPIS - Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: This reverse shared w/ 1888-S VAM-8 & 1888-S VAM-11. This obverse shared w/ 1888-S VAM-10 & 1888-S VAM-11. There is a diagonal die gouge on the eagle's right wing that was the feature of the former VAM 16.
