1888-S VAM-2
Error
Description
1888-S VAM-2 S/S Discovered by Leonard Hinckley, February 1974. 2 III2 1 - C3b (S/S) (186) Reverse C3b - Repunched mint mark with original showing as curved line on left side of upper loop opening. DPIS - Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: This reverse has a nice marker above the eagle's head (a nasty gooseegg (some examples - but not all?)). The date is in the normal position. There can be extra metal on the surfaces of the digits (Shift doubling). Exact same reverse as 1888-S VAM-2, 1888-S VAM-3C, 1888-S VAM-14 & 1888-S VAM-14A (despite what the revised listing says).
