Description
1888-P VAM-11 Doubled Ear Discovered by Oscar Simpson, May 1978. Revised 2003. This coin is a Top 100 Morgan VAM. 11(revised) III29 · C3a (Doubled Ear) ( ? ) Obverse III29-- Ear strongly doubled on right outside of large lobe and on right side of inner ear fill. Slight doubling on hairline just above ear, top of cotton leaves and cotton bolls on right side. Date in normal position. DPIS - ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # [[1888-P VAM-11 Doubled Ear. This VAM has strong doubling along the back side of the ear down to the lobe as well as inside the ear. The [[1888 VAM-11 is fairly available so collectors should seek out a nice mint state example. If you locate a [[1888-P VAM-11 be sure to check for die clashing to see if it is a [[1888-P VAM-11A.
