=1887-O VAM-17 Doubled 8-7, Far Date= Discovered by Martin Field, November 1979. 17 III2 16 - C3a (Doubled 8-7, Far Date) (181) Obverse III2 16- First 8 doubled slightly on bottom right outside of lower loop. 7 doubled about upper serif. Date set further right than normal. Reverse C3a - DPIS - ; Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # The 1887-O VAM-17A (clashed) is the exact same die pair as the 1887-O VAM-17 (unclashed). # EDS examples MAY show an O/O mintmark but it is not reliable for attribution purposes as it disappears soon after striking began.
