Error
Description
Discovery September 2022, Ed Pope III2 3 • C3a (Doubled 18-3, Thread Impression, Polished Dies) (?) Obverse III2 3 - 1 doubled slightly on right side and on top of base, left 8 doubled on left insdie of both loops, 3 doubled as a barb on the bottom inside. Later die stage with lines inside top loop of left 8 polished away. Curved thread impression on lower cotton boll extending onto leaf. Die Marker - Polishing lines in and around ear. Reverse C3a - S set slightly to the left at normal height. Chips forming on top right of right wreath near M in AMERICA. Die Marker - Lines in wing-neck gap DPIS - ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # Briefly called VAM 16 until it was realized this was a late die stage of 1883-S VAM-4
