A Morgan dollar die variety cataloged in the Van Allen-Mallis reference — the definitive classification system for Morgan and Peace dollar die combinations and die states. 1882-S VAM-32 Doubled 882 Discovery 2014 32 III2 22 - C3a (Doubled 882) (187) Obverse III2 22 - Doubled 882 with left 8 on surface of left inside of upper loop and upper right outside of lower loop, right 8 at top outside of upper loop and 2 at top outside of upper loop. Die marker - Single short vertical polishing line at bottom of lowest cotton leaf. Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: Also slightly doubled on top of Phrygian cap. Chips develop on both sides of both 8s.
