1882-CC VAM-3 Doubled Date & Ear, Spiked Wing Discovered by George Mallis, July 1964. Revision November 1999 by Mike Emswiler. Revision April 2005 by Terry Forfa 3(revised) III2 3 • C3c (Doubled Date & Ear, Spiked Wing) (177) Obverse III2 3 - Doubled date with 1 slightly doubled below bottom cross bar. First 8 slightly doubled on left and right inside of upper loop. Second 8 and 2 doubled at top and upper left side. Date set close to rim. Ear slightly doubled at lower right inside and bottom outside. Long, diagonal die scratch into field from jaw-neck junction on earliest die stage. Reverse C3c - Right C of mint mark set low.
