1880-S VAM-38 Doubled 8, S/S Right Discovered by Oscar Simpson, March 1977. 38 III2 12 ∙ C3g (Doubled 8, S/S Right) (?) Obverse III2 12 – Die chip on right between the loops of the first 8 of the date. Second 8 doubled on left bottom outside of upper loop. Reverse C3g – (medium) IV S mint mark repunched with original showing as a short vertical line at top right of upper loop opening and as a vertical curved line at very right side of lower loop opening.
