Description
1880-S VAM-32 S/S and Doubled Date Discovered by Ivan Leaman, March 1974. 32 III2 21 ∙ C3h (S/S and Doubled Date) (187) Obverse III2 21 – Entire date doubled faintly at very bottom right. First 8 doubled strongly on surface of lower loop. Second 8 doubled at lower left outside of upper loop. 0 doubled on left and right outside at top and bottom. Reverse C3h – Mint mark repunched with original showing as a curved line centered inside upper loop. Medium mint mark is partially filled. No dot on eagle's wing. Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: This exact obverse die was used to produce the 1880-S VAM-31, 1880-S VAM-32, & 1880-S VAM-51 Same reverse as VAM 18 and VAM 60
