Description
1880-S VAM-24 Doubled 80, Die Chip 8 Discovered by Bill Fivaz, October 1974. Revised September 2023 24 III2 16 ∙ C3q (Doubled 880, Die Chip 8) (?) Obverse III2 16 – 880 in date is slightly doubled. First 8 has a small die chip in top inside of upper loop with light doubling on surface at top inside of lower loop. Second 8 is doubled slightly on lower left outside of upper loop. 0 doubled at top left and right outside. Reverse C3q – Slight doubling of legend letters in radial direction plus motto and wreath leaves on outside. Very large VI S mint mark tilted left.
