1880-P VAM-25 Doubled 18-0 Discovered by Bill Fivaz, September 1976. Revision October 2001 by Jeff Oxman. Revised 2010. This coin is a Hit List 40 Morgan VAM. Second 8 slightly doubled at lower left outside of upper loop. 0 slightly doubled at lower left inside. Thin polishing lines at top of forehead and hair above it. '''Reverse C3a โ''' Three tiny die chips together in middle of eagle's right wing. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: '''Comments:''' # This variety was formerly known as 0/9 and is shown in the VAM book, the Hit List 40 book, and some TPG slabs as 0/9. At the time of the discovery of VAM 25B in 2010, Leroy wrote in the discovery letter, "VAM 25 no longer listed as an 0/9 overdate since not enough evidence of 9 shows on 0." The revision of 2010 reflects this change. # July 10, 2008 - ANACS reports [[1880-P VAM-1E (now delisted) removed from the ANACS population and changed the listing to 1880-P VAM-25. # One doubled at bottom of lower crossbar. # Die marker, on eagle's right wing, 9th outer feather from bottom, has small rectangle with 2 dots above it.
