1879-P VAM-7.1 Doubled 9 Discovered by Charles Wallace, April 1959.Revised 2017 7.1 (revised) III2 7 - C3a (Doubled 9) (179) Obverse III2 7 - Upper left outside of 9 is doubled. Some specimens show die chip between loops of 8 on the left side. Open 9 variety. Reverse C3a - Normal die Comments: 1879-P VAM-7 is a family of VAMs consisting of 1879-P VAM-7.1, 1879-P VAM-7.2, 1879-P VAM-7.3 & 1879-P VAM-7.4. This family will most likely be broken up into 7 different VAMs (with at least 3 of them not having a 7 in the number). None of these share either the obverse or the reverse.
