=1879-P VAM-22 Doubled Date= Discovered by Martin Field, March 1979. 22 III2 22 ∙ C3a (Doubled Date) (179) I-2 R-3 (SSDC R8) Obverse III2 22 – Entire date is doubled. 1 doubled at top and left corner as two steps. 8 doubled at lower left outside of upper loop and bottom right outside of lower loop. 7 doubled at top left and right. 9 doubled at left outside of both loops. Reverse C3a – Normal die Comments: 1. This is actually the EXACT same thing as the VAM-92 (and perhaps the 1879-P VAM-19). Official ruling pending.
