1879-P VAM-18 Doubled 187 Discovered by Martin Field, October 1978, Revised 2018. 18 (revised) III2 18 - C3a (Doubled 187) (180) Obverse III2 18 ∙ Doubled 1 with notches at top and left of top serif and notch at middle top of left bottom bar and top right end of right-side bottom bar. 8 slightly doubled at top and bottom inside of upper loop on fully struck specimens. 7 slightly doubled on right side of top left serif with notch in middle of 7 top. Slightly doubled upper lip of Liberty head. Die marker – Long slightly diagonal polishing line at left end of cap ribbon. Reverse C3a – Die marker – Polishing lines in wreath bow. Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: Same Obverse die as 1879-P VAM37.
