Description
1879-P VAM-13 Doubled 18-9 Discovered by Guy Messing, July 1976. Revised 4/2003 (Brent Fogelberg), ((VAM-52) Discovered by John Coxe, 5/2006). 13(revised) III2 13 · C3a (Doubled 18-9) (179) Obverse III2 13 – Doubled 18-9 in date. Slightly doubled 1 at top left point, on surface of top crossbar and strongly at top left and right of bottom crossbar. 8 doubled at top inside of lower loop. Slightly doubled 9 at left outside of upper loop and nose tip, lips and chin. Reverse C3a – Long vertical die scratch in tail feathers above eagle’s right talon. Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: 1879-P VAM 13 is the exact obverse of VAM 54 paired with a different reverse die. See Van Allen plates in the 2006 update. 1879-P VAM-52 (now delisted) was a duplicate listing.
