Description
The 1878 Proof Dollar Pattern - J-1565 is a proof dollar pattern struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Metric & Stella Patterns (1874-1879) series. It is a muling of Morgan's J-1550a obverse, which has a raised M on the neck, and Barber's J-1554 reverse; USPatterns.com suggests it may be a fantasy. It is struck in copper with a reeded edge. USPatterns.com rates it R-7. It is also catalogued as Pollock-1732 and Adams-Woodin 1571. Cataloged as PCGS #61927.
