1878-P VAM-227-1 Normal Second Obverse, Normal Third Reverse, Full 4th Right Star, Line thru O in OF This coin is a Hit List 40 Morgan Vam. 227-1 II 1 · C3a (Normal Second Obverse, Normal Third Reverse, Full 4th Right Star, Line thru O in OF) (176) Obverse II 1- Reverse C3a– Normal C3 reverse without any significant doubling. Reeding count coins of 176 has a long diagonal die polishing line through O in OF. Reeding count coins of 175 has very slight doubling of two leaves at the top of left wreath. Date position (DPIS): In 1878 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position. Notes: Later die state is clashed but no letter transfer reported to date. Obverse Overlay available at the bottom of the page. A strong die gouge transects the small wheat leaf below the "I" in PLURIBUS. (Same die as VAM-221A) A long diagonal die polishing line thru "O" in OF. (Same die as VAM-228B)
