Description
A copper rendering of the Shield without rays obverse and numeral 5 reverse, J-1054 provides the base-metal comparison for J-1053's standard silver version. The copper composition yields a distinctly different strike quality and surface texture from both the standard silver and copper-nickel versions, as copper's malleability allows sharper detail reproduction in the shield's complex line work and star arrangements.
