Description
A copper striking of the eagle-reverse dime design introduced in J-1080, this pattern demonstrates the proposed redesign in base metal. The eagle motif, rendered with particular clarity in copper, shows the detailed feather work and powerful pose that would have lent the dime a distinctly more commanding presence than the relatively modest wreath reverse of production coins. Copper strikings of eagle-reverse patterns are among the most visually appealing base-metal proofs in the series.
