The 1868 Proof Nickel Pattern - J-635 is a proof five-cent pattern struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Reconstruction Era Patterns (1866-1869) series. It was struck from the regular 1868 Shield nickel dies. USPatterns.com has not confirmed that a copper example exists. Judd lists it in copper with a plain edge. It is also catalogued as Pollock-707. Cataloged as PCGS #60853.
