Description

Judd-433, Pollock-504, is the fifth and final 1865 proof half dollar motto pattern, concluding the denomination's four-year, twenty-five-variety contribution to the IN GOD WE TRUST development program. This last half dollar pattern represents the culmination of the most extensive single-denomination design study in the entire motto program. The adopted 1866 With Motto half dollar incorporated the refined design that emerged from this extraordinary body of experimental work. The half dollar would continue with the With Motto Seated Liberty design through 1891.
