Description

Judd-430, Pollock-501, is the second 1865 proof half dollar motto pattern. This variety continues the final refinement of the With Motto half dollar, a design that had been under development since the GOD OUR TRUST experiments of 1861. By 1865, the design had evolved from the early scroll-above-eagle concept through numerous iterations, and these final patterns document the last adjustments before adoption. Struck in silver with proof finish.
