Error
Description
ADC-1c-1865-02 This 1865 Liberty Head cent (fancy five) underwent two clash events that were offset from each other and were off centered from die to die when the event occurred. This coin is in the collection of Russell Grayson. The two clash events are noticeable as to lines from the Liberty’s head dress down to her pearl necklace. Notice the clash mark left by the C of CENT to the left of Liberty’s brow. A partial clash mark from the shield on the reverse can be seen just above the pearl necklace. The above overlay shows the position of the dies when the weaker of the two clash events occurred. The overlay above shows the dies position when the strong clash event occurred .
