Description
1858 WDDO-003 is a doubled die obverse on the 1858 Flying Eagle cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. A Class II spread toward the center shows on UNITED STATES, where it is weaker than on WDDO-002, and on the eagle's eye, beak and talons and on AMERICA. Wexler has no die markers for either side yet: the coin examined was a circulated piece, and better examples are needed. William R. Van Note submitted the variety. Its cross-reference is Snow-2.
