Description
1857 WDDO-009 is a doubled die obverse on the 1857 Flying Eagle cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. A Class I clockwise (CW) spread shows on USA and on the eagle's beak and eye. The same obverse also has a repunched date (RPD): the 57 was punched twice, the extra impression strongly south, while the 1 shows a slight northward repunching. Wexler notes no reverse markers and does not record who submitted the variety. Snow numbers it S10 and CONECA DDO-006. Cherrypickers has it as FS-01-1857-103, Flynn as DDO-009, and the F.IND.ERS Report as FND-007.
