Description

A 1795 Washington Liberty & Security penny with a plain (non-cord) border. The smooth border provides a cleaner appearance compared to the cord border variety. This is the more common of the two penny border varieties. The design features Washington's bust on the obverse with LIBERTY AND SECURITY and a heraldic design on the reverse.

Rarity Notes

Moderately scarce. More available than the cord border penny.
