Description
A 1795 Washington Liberty & Security penny with a distinctive cord (rope) border around the obverse and/or reverse. The cord border adds a decorative element that distinguishes this variety from the plain border penny. The larger penny size (approximately 33mm) provides more space for the design elements. The obverse features Washington's bust with the LIBERTY AND SECURITY legend.

Scarce. The cord border penny is less common than the plain border.
